OUR COACHES
Avalanche Kidz is a learn to skate and developmental hockey skills program for boys and girls ages 4-13 in Montreal. Our coaches are dedicated to creating a fun and inclusive environment for kids to learn and grow their skills. Meet our coaching staff below.
JOE BARBER
MANAGER
Joe Barber is the program manager of Avalanche Kidz. He has been involved in hockey coaching for over 10 years and is passionate about helping kids develop their skills on and off the ice.
KARI DERENZI
SKATING COACH
Kari Derenzi is our skating coach and has been skating since she was 4 years old. She loves teaching kids how to skate and helping them gain confidence on the ice.
CARTER PHELPS
HOCKEY COACH
Carter Phelps is our hockey coach and has been playing hockey since he was a young boy. He is passionate about teaching kids the skills and strategies needed to excel in the game.
DUSTY MENDES
EQUIPMENT COACH
Dusty Mendes is our equipment coach and is responsible for making sure all of our players have the gear they need to stay safe on the ice. He also teaches kids how to properly care for their equipment.
